Set back from the street, the homeowners wanted to add a second floor without the full height volume of a traditional second floor. The first floor stone veneer was also detail to be retained. With that in mind, a new floor system was provided on which a steeper roof was placed to provide more than enough great useable space. A vaulted guest room, children’s bedrooms and baths, even a reading nook above the entry were added. Dormers provide addition space and character and the new eyebrow roof over the porch helps define the entry.
